Description

(Just saying to those who know Chinese, yes his name is literally Sun.  And yes it's possible for the characters to be switched around but I don't know much about Chinese names despite having one because you can screw up when writing down the character (COUGH) and then have another character that sounds like the other one. Also there will be edits and I love this group's idea ahh.)

Neutral [Curious,Straightforward, Determined, Sensitive, Unpredictable]
Negative [Vengeful, Self Loathing, Emotional, Stubborn, Stiff]

Taiyun is human, while being human means he is a mess and he isn't going to deny that.

On the average, he normally comes off as a happy go lucky person.  He can be great to talk to due to his creativeness, being able to tell funny jokes from the top of his head or just spin stories about weird things.  You can be sure he is the first one to come up with something completely weird and new. Not the smartest but also not the dumbest around, Taiyun deals with his average intelligence with many different ways to solve problems.  Due to his upbringing, Taiyun is extremely hardworking, a bit of a try-hard as the gaming community calls these people.  He gives 110% regardless of the subject, which sometimes bites him in the ass when he burns out pretty quickly.  When he is really into something, like a video game or a subject, Taiyun gets on a crazy spree about it.  He's extremely passionate about everything he does, able to ramble about things for hours on end. His attitude becomes rather explosive when it gets to this point, becoming more loud and his voice gets slightly sharper as he explains how much he loves this song he heard and all the metaphors in the lyrics.  This also extends to his collection habits as if he really really likes something, he just let it take over his life for a few months. There is also a part of him that is ridiculously loyal. His small circle of friends can say he is the best to be a friend with because he will give his life to people he cares about.  Sick?  Taiyun is the first one to be there with hot soup and movies to watch together.  Needing a cry?  Taiyun will always have a shoulder for you to lean on. If only becoming his friend was easy... He is always there for them, reliable to a fault. Always ready to lend a hand, he is most of the time the first one to step up to the plate when someone needs help, or needs assistance.  This also allows him to learn things for the sake of learning.

Curious to a fault, Taiyun's desire to know tends to get the good and bad out of him.  On one hand, it lead to some knowledge he wouldn't have gotten normally, but on the other hand it gets him into a lot of trouble. Taiyun is also very straightforward, and doesn't beat around the bush when he talks. You might think someone who doesn't lie is great but when they are throwing down harsh truths, it's might get grating. Due to his mindset, he might be determined but it also overlaps with being a stubborn mule.  Both of these traits work with each other, as he could be so focused in one thing he refused to give it up until he is done.  Especially when he fails, then he is just going to try and try and make himself feel bad, when all he needed to do is step away for a bit.  He has to finish this project, this game round, this book, anything, he has to complete it. He has to.  He's really sensitive actually, being delicate when he needs to but a lot of things hurts him deeply even if they are just an off comment that doesn't mean anything. He will laugh it off but stew on the meaning for days on end.  There is also an unpredictable side to Taiyun.  He tends to just suddenly disappear for moments on time, or just suddenly flip all the cups in his house because he needs to.  It's a coin flip if he won't suddenly say something extremely out of place like during lunch mentioning that "Flamingos pee on their legs to cool off, wonder if people do that in the pool for the same reason." And just end it there.

Deep in the dark place of Taiyun's mind, there is so much anger. He's angry at people around him, he is angry at the world, he is angry at himself.  He is always angry about something but he won't say a single thing.  If someone wronged him, or he thought someone wronged him, be prepared for that long term revenge.  He can hold a grudge for years due to being vengeful as all hell. "Oh it's nothing, not like that one time 3 years ago where you completely stood the group up because your girlfriend at the time was having a hissy fit.  I told you she was going to be annoying but nooo you don't listen to me, no one listens to me."  Having an inferiority complex, Taiyun always believes he is a loser, he can't do anything right, he is worthless.  His levels of self loathing are quite high.  Day in and day out, he quietly kills himself over and over again in his mind as he mentally beats himself up for days on end over small things.  Adding to the fact he absolutely hates himself, it is a repeating cycle within. This usually ends up with him crying himself to sleep at night.  He deals with this in public by lying to himself, trying to just get himself through the day as quick as possible. "I'm fine, I'm doing good, oh don't worry about me, these things don't bother me" Being a giant ball of emotions, Taiyun is prone to bursting out in tears when it finally hits him.  He will completely start crying in the middle of the streets if his thoughts finally catch up to him. Taiyun has extreme highs when he is happy but extreme lows when he is feeling down in the dumps. He is also a bit of a stickier for things, really needing to have everything organized.  Due to his upbringing, he has a very stiff attitude and is pretty bad at trying to relax.  He tends to have really fixed habits and hates to break them, getting irritated if people tell him to stop doing something he does all the time.

Biography:

Taiyun's story isn't one with hopes and dreams, just mostly a kid living out his life trying to survive in the crap world everyone lives in.  Some people strive for better, others just fight to keep going.

Early Life:

An only child in a Chinese family, a lot can go good here, as well as a lot can go wrong.  For Taiyun's cause, it didn't do either, it was rather in the middle.  To be honest, this is literally what Taiyun is, the average in between no one really talks about or cares about.  He wasn't a genius but he wasn't stupid either.  He didn't have any outstanding talents yet he wasn't incompetent either.  The firstborn male is usually a great thing in Chinese culture, Taiyun is happy that he at least wasn't a firstborn female.  That would just be bad because his mother comes from a village where their culture care more about the males than females.  It was just he was also shouldering a lot of expectation as well.  So Taiyun was raised well, he guesses, though he never felt he was raised well.  He read a lot of stories and watched enough shows to think his life was nothing of glamour or greatness, nor it was horrible and suffering.  It was in the middle, again, just not really going anywhere.

We really need to shed some light on his family life to really explain where Taiyun's mentality stems from. His mother was a very strict and stern woman, smart and skilled.  She was the most hardworking person Taiyun knew, but also a feared figure because she was so capable when he wasn't.  Taiyun's mother was a business woman, so she does a lot of deals with clients and knows how to keep face really well.  His father is overseas earning money for the family.  They were living comfortably, lots of savings and because they are a business family, they were really good with handling money. Taiyun's extra tutor classes were paid for, so he could get ahead in school, some more hobby skill subjects like playing piano and violin gave him an appreciation for music.  Did he enjoy the classes?  Not particular but it was a start of finding comfort in music. Spending most of his childhood either studying something, practicing instruments or playing video games at home, Taiyun didn't develop any real social skills.  His mother kept him under her wing to protect him, a bit too much in fact.  He later learnt it was because she was worried he was going to get into the mindset of only playing and neglecting studying which could lead to some bad habits in the future.  He didn't do sports because he had an aversion to touching which stemmed from his mother never really going out of her way to hug or interact with him, even holding his hand or if they were outside, got him to cling to her dress or her handbag.  He did a lot of solo activities, which was fine with him.  He was okay with that.

What Taiyun wasn't okay with is the lack of praise, or lack of acknowledgment of his achievements.    He wasn't looking for an award or super coddling type of reaction, he was just looking for an "Okay." or a "Good job." from his mother.  He never got it, he only go "You can do better.  You are not doing good enough, you need to try harder."  So he did, he tried harder, he worked more, he practiced longer hours.  But all he got was "Hmm."  Nothing, no reaction.  This continued through his elementary school life, where he attempted to get the best grades in class. There is a large negative reinforcements mentality in the community, as the teachers don't phrase the students either.  Actually, he found everyone else in class had the near same experience as him, which is slightly bonding for the class in a group but still pretty bad in general.  He got close, he did well for what his brain can handle, which wasn't much.  He passed everything, he tried his hardest, got all the extra help, went to all the tutoring sessions, did his homework ahead of time.  He wasn't the top of the class, but he was hovering near top during his elementary school years.  But all he got was "You can do better, you are not the top of your class.  You need to work harder."  Over and over again from his mother, he kept working looking for the praise that never came.

Middle School:

In middle school, he found he was really average.  He was too stupid for the smart people, but too smart for the stupid people, being put in the middle outcast range.  He wasn't able to socialize well, so he got bullied because he was an easy target with the extreme emotional spectrum and unable to read people.  Crying in class was a frequent occurrence, making him run for the washrooms all the time.  Looking back on it, Taiyun thinks he spent more time in the washroom than the classroom.  This isn't anything new Taiyun thought, watching shows and reading books.  Everyone gets bullied, I'm not special, I'm not different, I'm just the same loser.  And then started the cycle of Taiyun never believing he was anything, he was just a loser with the same story as everyone else, he wasn't worth the time to get superpowers or become anyone famous.  He was useless, just another broken cog in the system of society, he can't do anything right.

Then why does he want to succeed so bad?  Why does he want the recognition so bad? Why does he want something he can't have?

Then why does he want to succeed so bad?  Why does he want the recognition so bad? Why does he want something he can't have?

The first friend he got was a girl called Meihua.  She was definitely someone he never expected to meet in his life.  Older than him by two years, she had a giant big sister mentality since she also had a younger brother but he was much younger.  Storming down the stairs of the school, she yelled at his bullies and actually attempted to fight them before the teacher got there.  Taiyun recalls having a crush on her but not really sure since he found her loudness and trying to get into his personal space really awkward and strange.  It turns out she was a half, her mother is Chinese and her father is from America.  She was so cool, in Taiyun's eyes, being able to be all conversational, take him around the town and not be bothered by his awkwardness.  He never mentioned her to his mother though, knowing she would disapprove of such an impolite loud girl who is a bit wild.  He experienced a lot with Meihua, who gave him his first camera, a disposal one but it was still something.  Around the time he was about to go into high school, she told him she was going to move to America, and that they should keep in touch via the internet and email.  This was Taiyun's introduction to the internet.

Highschool and Mental Breakdown:

Around the time of high school, Taiyun taken to the internet and explored all the different websites and everything the grand wide web has to offer.  He went onto forums and became someone else to socialize.  Meihua sends him a lot of YouTube videos, mostly of JPop groups and song covers along with a bunch of English songs too.  He enjoyed the singing portion of them more than the background music which does support the song.  The raw emotion he got from the voice really was something different from just listening to voiceless music.  Lyrics were definitely a thing, as he spent some time looking for translations and got frustrated that he couldn't get a good understanding of the songs he was listening to. He definitely improved in English class after listening to more English songs, and Japanese was also picked up due to too many JPop songs and his love for video games which lead to him meeting his second friend, Jiangia.

Jiangjia was Taiyun's age, and they both went to different schools.  Their fateful meeting happened in a video game store which was hosting a mini tournament for a fighting game Taiyun loves.  Being matched up against each other, Taiyun found himself getting wrecked by Jiangjia's combo mix ups and cross ups he normally doesn't get to fight against playing only against AI.  "Again!"  He challenged Jiangjia after losing for the fifth time and the other boy just laughed and told him they should play over at his place so they aren't holding up the store.  Their friendly rivalry based off fighting games continued on as Jiangjia started to show Taiyun his collection of Japanese import games.  The two laughed over how silly one song was, due to it's extremely suddenly heavy metal vocals to a Japanese flute.  By now Taiyun has taken a few Japanese classes to at least read some of the lyrics and completely burst out laughing at the English/Japanese mix.  "When you die, where's your god." Taiyun totally joked and tried to sing along horribly and Jiangjia laughed his ass off telling Taiyun to put it on Youtube because he sounded amazing.  Taiyun hesitated, because he didn't think he was A: good at singing, and B: he isn't going to show his face to the world.

Jiangjia showed him some videos of vocalists covering songs from Japan, having either an object or something covering their face. Taiyun agreed since he trusts Jiangjia and started making derpy videos online.  He made a YouTube account and using broken English, called himself Sunsideboi (because he saw using boi instead of boy is trendy) and made that one misheard lyric video.  Jiangjia started pulling out more songs and then they both had something to do together other than fighting games.  He used a cardboard cut out of a sun to hid his face, and Jiangjia drew a derpy (:3) on it to fit the image.  He really enjoyed all the screamo style songs and tend to do parody shouting or rocking out.  Man youtube comments are brutal by the way, Jiangjia had tissue boxes lined up for Taiyun's spontaneous crying to good and bad comments.  But it did give him something to do, made him scream out his emotions, made him sing about some depressing parodies about being a loser, doing a bunch of Vocaloid covers about being not good enough.  It was a good outlet for him.

Later he found out it wasn't just a good outlet for him, but for other people too.  He got one specific comment with someone saying "Thank you for doing this, every single time you upload you make me laugh. I wasn't in a good place for awhile but listening to you sing helped."  One crying session later and Jiangjia grabbing tea, Taiyun realized he wasn't happy with his life, and he knew his life wasn't as bad as a lot of other people, but it didn't occur to him he could make other people happy.  He just always wallowed in his own mental misery that he didn't know he could actually effect other people.  It helped stabilize him for a bit, and he decided he might try pursuing singing since it is something he can do reasonably well.

As high school was coming to an end, Taiyun didn't have good enough grades to proceed with anything.  He was very much a C+/B- type of guy, not really having anything outstanding in academics and certain his shit physical education scores didn't peg him to being an athlete. He did not take music classes in school so they weren't able to boost his average score.  But he definitely knew he wanted to try being a singer. The most disappointing look from his mother broke his heart after telling her his idea as she shakes her head and told him she expected better from him.  She said being a singer isn't viable and there is no way he can earn money as a singer.  Taiyun really wanted to whip out his subscription number at her face but it's not like parents understand what that is.  What really hit him was when she said his failing grades were on Jiangjia.  Taiyun broke, screaming at her. "YOU KEEP TELLING ME TO BE BETTER BUT YOU ARE NOT HELPING ME AT ALL!  I AM TRYING MY HARDEST AND YOU ARE STILL NOT SEEING MY FINGERS HURTING OR MY LACK OF SLEEP!  WHEN THERE IS SOMETHING THAT I AM GOOD AT, YOU JUST DISMISS IT!  I KNOW I AM A FAILURE BUT DON'T YOU DARE SAY JIANGJIA IS A BAD INFLUENCE! I WILL NOT TAKE THAT! WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT FROM ME!"  Years and years of anger and bitterness was pouring out as the dust settles and all Taiyun's mother said was, "Okay. You do what you want."  And that was the worst moment for the boy.  His mother given up on him, all he wanted was a little bit of recognition.  Just his mother's, his father isn't in his life long enough for Taiyun to care about him at all.

What Next?

Nearly time for Taiyun to graduate, he went home one day after school and hopped onto the internet to lose his mind surfing the web. Online, Taiyun found a flier online to audition for 346Pro, an idol group.  His eyes hollow from lack of meaning lit up slightly, the small fire of interest starting to spark.  Hey this is an option right?  He watched a bunch of their videos and his eyes fell on ERR0R.  Error.  The name itself was almost fitting for Taiyun, feeling he was an error, a glitch, a mistake.  A connection was formed, Taiyun found himself drawn in deeper into the idol scene.  It was in Japan, but it seems like anyone can audition.  He can get away from his mother, which might help because their relationship was tense for the past month.  It was possible right?  There is a chance, some average dumb kid in Hong Kong with no future can totally try.  It's okay if he fails, it will literally do nothing if he fails so why not try?  After watching the videos for a long time, Taiyun just threw in an audition expecting to fail.  Of course, he gave it his all regardless, just because he thinks he is going to fail doesn't mean he isn't going to go with 110%.  With a button, he presses submit and waits. If this doesn't work, he can always attempt Fighting Game Esports.

He waited for the results, and told his mother his plans during this.  She gave him a look, but then sighed.  "You do what you want, if this makes you happy you can do it.  Just know I am not pleased with your decision.  If you succeed good for you, but if you fail you come back here and study."  She told him, Taiyun accepting these terms.  She will support him to at least move to the dorms they company provided but once over there he needs to work extra hard in keeping himself there.  Jiangjia laughs about being his first fan though, cheering him on from the side.

So standing at the airport with a ticket to Japan and a suitcase of the basics essentials, Taiyun went on one of his few airplane fights (He flown to nearby locations with his mother when she went on small business trips).  It was the first time he went by himself and he was extremely nervous with one crying episode in the airport washroom, which was a lot less than he thought. Some guy actually asked if he was okay, and Taiyun just laughed it off awkwardly, another fun experience. With an ahead prepared booking at a hotel nearby for four days (Thanks to his mother, who still wants her son to be prepared and not suddenly kidnapped or something random like that), Taiyun could actually get a good look around the place before returning home.  Hey, at least he can say he went to Japan, if he did fail the audition in the end. The boy set out towards the land of the rising sun, and into Tokyo he landed safely.  By now he got enough tutor classes to get around but actually talking to people was actually really interesting and exciting. By the way, he did have to hit a Japanese video game store for the sake of doing it.  Taiyun picked up a few key-chains, including his personal favourite character which he brought in to the audition with him in his pocket.  Just for luck.

The building spooked the Chinese boy but he went in with his shaky legs and a loud voice.  He signed up at the front desk and waited for his turn, rapid foot tapping and an excused moment to cry once again in the washroom of the production building (Boy he is gonna be really familiar with the washroom locations right?)  Listening one more time to his favourite song, where was his god now, and steeled his nerves as he was called for his audition. Does he get in, or does he have what he expected happen. Failure.

Likes & Dislikes:
Heart Video Games, especially Fighting Games
Heart Funny sounding songs played on loop
Heart Cameras, especially antique ones
Heart Tea, because it's the nectar of the gods and he will fight you on it
Heart Curling in a small location like a cardboard box or into a blanketed ball and then nap

Death Himself, a hell lot
Death Public Displays of Affection, seriously he can't stand when couples hug or kiss in public
Death Failure, he's so used to it he expects it to happen
Death Being alone and being around people.  It's a hard place in between.
Death Scary movies, he is one giant chicken shit. Actually scary things in general, expect him to scream the loudest when jump-scared.

Hobbies:
Bullet; Black Video games-Fighting games: Taiyun spent a lot of time playing video games, but his favourites are all fighting games because it help get out a lot of his violent tenancies as he utterly destroys his victims-opponents with well executed combos and wall cornering.  He also loves all the music and character themes as he does parody lyrics and one of his first misheard lyrics videos was of Must Die from Blazblue Centralfiction.  On his spare time, he still plays a lot of fighting games and keeps up with every single new installment.  Don't challenge him to fighting games, he gets too serious over them.
Bullet; Black Reading: He reads a lot of Chinese light novels and started getting into Japanese light novels as well.  His favourite Chinese novel is Peerless Battle Spirit (Which he laughed at the English name), and Quan Zhi Gao Shou.  He still hasn't found one for Japanese but he is really enjoying a lot of ones about people getting trapped in video games.
Bullet; Black Photography: Taiyun really likes taking pictures of things, people, and everything in general.  He worries that he is going to forget all the things he sees, all the good experiences and tries to always have something to capture the moment.

Relationships:
Family:
Mother-Ye Meileung: Taiyun and his mother's relationship is very stiff and tense.  He finds her like the warden over his life and he always tries to please her and fails at every step.  All he wanted was some recognition or approval.
Father-Ye Singwen: Being overseas working, in America, Taiyun never really sees his father and doesn't talk to him a lot.  The only times his father comes to visit for business reasons only, never for vacation, was rare and they don't talk much to each other because his father is sleeping during the times Taiyun is awake.

Friends:
Meihua- Taiyun's first friend.  She is like a giant big sister figure and she is around two years older than him.  They talk whenever they can and usually just send pictures of flowers at each other and sometimes Meihua will send a picture of a cat butt at Taiyun.
Jiangjia - A video game buddy.  They go to separate schools but met at a video game store and bonded over fighting games as Jiangjia was the only person to kick Taiyun's ass at all fighting games.  Friendly rivalry but don't see each other a lot and only meet up at the game store.

N/A Currently, will update.

Extra:
Bullet; Black Actually hates being touched, Taiyun will go out of his way to avoid physical contact as much as possible.  But if you are someone dear to him, he will go out of his way to approach you for maybe a fist bump or a high five.  If he is remotely standing close in enough to be in someone's personal bubble, it means you have achieved social link and he will be your friend.  Touching him without him knowing might have him accidentally hit you or jump slightly and pull away.
Bullet; Black  Will never share food with people.  Is a germophobe when it comes to food for some reason.  Sharing something like a drink with a person means he really trusts that person.
Bullet; Black Is demisexual, likes dudes and girls and everyone in between as long as he can handle the person (or more like they can handle this mess)
Bullet; Black Speaks Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese), English, and Japanese.  His Japanese is slightly accented and extremely formal. He will not know more difficult words and tends to mix languages by accident.
Bullet; Black Favourite colour is yellow, not that he will admit that to anyone.
Bullet; Black Has to cry after every performance for five minutes in a washroom stall.  It's more like cry screaming like "AHHHHHHH" And lots of snot and tears everywhere.  He just does it to get rid of all the emotions built up during the performance, and uses the crying to cool down.  He's completely fine after it.
Bullet; Black Pretty flexible, enough to cram himself into small places where people are confused how the hell is he fitting.  If he fits he sits.
Bullet; Black Has extremely loud screams, trained from his screamo and metal phase.
:bulletblack: Yes he knows how to play the piano and violin, but he can't sing and play at the same time.  He hasn't trained himself in doing that yet.

:star: New Notes:
Bullet; Black Recently started question his gender from one off comment.  Decided to start researching this. Has decided he doesn't mind being male, but also doesn't mind being feminine sometimes as well.  Was really interested in crossplay.
Bullet; Black Trying to be a lot more assertive over his life, failing horribly
Bullet; Black Doesn't like McDonalds.
Bullet; Black Is slightly getting happier :3
